expo work

Our group came up with an awesome experiment that includes a lighter and a spray, all you had to do was light the lighter and spray
the flame. And it makes a flamethrower
We had not that much ideas one of ours was setting our hand

on fire without it hurting , Making paper planes and showing force
and motion And Water.

Out of all of our ideas we narrowed it down to one idea

which was paper planes because it was easy to explain and make.
Unfortunately it was a fail because all the work we did was all

on Arthur’s chromebook and since he left the school, we had
nothing to present  and so we had to try figure

out another idea which was the paper planes. But then we

had nowhere to sit and present our work to everyone so
we didn’t get to finish it The Next Time we can’t do it again because we will be at college and we won't be able to do an expo again,
maybe we will do a expo at college if we go to the same collage, maybe.

Dangerous Decimals 2

Dangerous Decimals
We are learning to identify the relationship between fractions and decimals

Decimals are fractions of 1 whole.
0.1 is 1/10.
0.01 is 1/100.

What is 2/10 as a decimal? 0.2

What is 6/10 as a decimal? 0.6

What is 7/100 as a decimal? 0.07

What is 18/100 as a decimal? 0.18

What is 7/1000 as a decimal? 0.007

What is 24/100 as a decimal? 0.24

What is 55/100 as decimal? 0.55

What is 12/10 as a decimal? 1.2

0.5 + 0.3 = 0.8

0.6 + 0.2 = 0.8

0.7 + 0.5 = 1.2

0.5 - 0.1 = 0.6

0.3 + 0.9 = 1.2

5/10 + 0.5 = 1

Year 8 Camp (late work)

Year Eight Leadership Camp

On the 23rd of May the year eights at pt england school
went on a camp to Kauaeranga Valley that was were our camp
was there were 6 cabins. 3 for the boys and 3 for the girls each
cabin had 12 people or less in it. In our cabins people were having
pillow fights and that stuff when i was trying to unpack my bags
and it was annoying.

About 2 hours later we had our first activity. Our first one was paintball
i thought it was going to be with paintball guns and that stuff but we
had a slingshot a paint ball to practice. But then the paintball was
like a rock and i got shot with it but it only stung for like 3 seconds it
was still fun i got 3 headshots. It was funny at first but then we
had a all on all battle and i got shot a lot of times it was sore but still fun.

At about 6pm we had dinner i can't remember what we
had but is was yum. Then we needed to go to sleep
then our cabin was so loud the teachers came in at
least 3-5 times and then some of the people in our
cabin had to run outside. I didn’t need to because
i wasn't talking and being loud but when they
came back they were all looked like they got
shot in the leg or something. Then after that
we all went to sleep because no of us wanted to do what they did.

Then we did more activities i can't remember what we did but
i remember we went on a go cart it was really fun. i was doing
drifts and stuff in it i was going as fast as it could it felt fast but
then when you wait for your next turn and watch it looks slow.
It felt like it took a long time to wait but then when it's your turn its cool.
But then i gets to muddy and stuff and it gets boring but it's still my favorite
one out of all the activities.

Then the next day we all left camp and went back to school then i had to wait
for a while to go home but then i got home and went to sleep because i was tired
after a long 3 days at camp
