Kia ora my name is Kaharau I am 10 years old. I really want to be an ambassador

for 2016 because I want to learn something new and I like a challenge. I’m the best person for this job because I am confident. I was a presenter for the film festival and I will try my best and never give up. I learned my lines by memory, went to all the practices at lunchtime and was at school everyday. I am reliable and committed.

One thing I learnt this year is decimals they are parts of a whole. for an example

0.1+0.1+0.1+0.1+0.1=0.5 and 0.5 is the same as a half. 0.5 is the same as 5 tenths which is the same is ½ and 0.5+0.5=1 whole . Learning about decimals has helped me with my fractions

Another thing I enjoyed this year is makerspace I made a birdhouse made out of wood. I got four even pieces of wood and two squares that fit in the whole and nailed them in.

I have a clear voice and I can stand still while I’m talking. If I am an ambassador I will learn my lines, be responsible honest and respectful and treat people the same way I would want to be treated.

In october 2015 we had a eating comp. we ate raw weet-bix with cream and a apple.

Me and Germaine were buddies we had to feed the other person. We put our arms under their arms and got the weet-bix and put it in his mouth when he was finished we got the apple and feed them. His mouth was stuffed with weet-bix and cream was all over his face he looked like a monster but then we started the countdown 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 done the next people go.

I felt like I was going to puke it smelt yuck. as it even smelt like puke it was disgusting my mate nearly puked as well.

Until it was my turn I was shaking my legs felt weak and wobbly Germaine put his arms under mine and we started 3 2 1 go!!! I got over it and tried to eat it but his hand was in the way I ate it and he got the apple but he dropped it. Time was up it was kinda yum it was mean as I felt weird and I was buzzing with happiness at the same time I was full I felt like a baby.

After my turn I felt sick so we went to the end of the class. To get a tissue and went to the end of the class and there were tissue’s there.

Here are some awesome facts about a tuatara. Did you know that the tuatara has been around since the dinosaurs? That is more than 70 million  years ago.

A tuatara looks like a lizard but has a spiny back, no ears but they can still hear it shows a response if they hear something they stay still until it comes to get then they run . They are a brown green grey color and the have really sharp teeth. Tuatara are camouflage. Camouflage means it can change color from the back ground. heir most curious body part is a “third eye” on the top of the head.

Tuatara once lived throughout the mainland of New Zealand but rat’s and people drove them to alot of danger there. they are still alive they have been alive for a really long time but if you see one do not pick it up.

The tuatara preys on insects, beetles, spiders, birds eggs, frogs and small reptiles and mammals. Tuatara is a carnivore so it eats meat and stuff. It eats other animals like rats,chicken,and other tuatara.

If I was living on a farm I will need to get up early to feed the pigs because I would have to feed them carrots and stuff.

I would call him nachos and play with him that will be cool to have a pet pig I will feed it milk everyday feed it carrots everyday and that is what i’ll do on a farm my favorite part is feeding it.

I'll give it its own little patick and i'll give it lots of mud and stuff then I will have a sleep again and wake up early.

In term two our whole team learns basketball. We practice and play to learn more skills. Room eight’s maths class go to basketball every Monday. We practice in the hall. Have you played basketball before?

My favorite skill is pivot because you can defend yourself and you can pass it to anyone around you. I am not that good at shooting. I am really good at passing and catching the ball. As I was running I was huffing and puffing and well I was I was sub I could feel the sweat dribbling down my face.a basketball player is as tall as a baby giraffe.

I felt really good I hope next year I will be in a basketball team.My favorit part about basketball is that it is fun.
